Fatoumata (Fatou) is a results-driven nonprofit leader. Excellence is her trademark. She has served as a consultant with several international non-governmental organizations including UNICEF and Save The Children. Her media work has featured on the UN Peace Women; NGO News Africa; the International Press Institute; among many others. She is also a former Research Support and Monitoring Officer of the UN Office for Project Services. Fatou transforms children's lives by rewriting their stories for their betterment. Fatou uses her education & experiences to give a voice to children. As a child, Fatou was denied access to education because of her gender. Girls in her family were labelled as domestic attendants, while the boys were the preferred gender for academic enlightenment. With the help of her mother, who unrelentingly advocated evolution in such gender perceptions, Fatou first stepped foot into a classroom at age 9.
She went on to defy all odds and is now a Published Author, an award-winning digital & print media professional working on political, developmental, peace & conflict issues. Fatou was honored with the Presidential Award for Academic Excellence. She believes when children are given the opportunity & tools that they need to climb the education ladder, there is no limit to how high they can fly and what trails they can blaze. Fatou uses her time & talents to ensure students receive resources for their success. Every decision that she makes centers on how to best meet student needs---Priority #1. Fatou lights up schools and fuels A+ Academic Resources for accomplishing its mission and making strides towards its vision---educational resources for K-12 students worldwide.
